I’m not saying I need a cottage in the woods but...



Hey {first_name},

How’s your week been? Are you as ready for the weekend as I am?

I feel like life is just gliding at the moment — not in a peaceful, serene way...more like a shopping trolley with one busted wheel rolling downhill. Constant motion, zero brakes.

Part of that might be because I’m quietly (or not so quietly) planning a move. Nothing confirmed yet, but I’m hoping to find somewhere quieter — less stress, more stillness. Somewhere Jasper and I can breathe a bit easier.

Not much more to say on that yet. I may have spotted a lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere which I'm strangely drawn to. I might run with it 🤔


🌀 This Week’s Thoughts...

> “Your dog didn’t go from 0 to 100. You just missed 40, 60, and 80.

Oof. Right?

Contrary to popular belief, reactivity rarely explodes out of nowhere — but that’s exactly how it feels when you’re in the thick of it.

We think: “They were fine! And now they’ve LOST IT. What happened?!”

But most of the time? They were giving us signs.

We just didn’t know what to look for.

Or we noticed but didn’t have the energy or clarity to connect the dots.

This is why I go on (and on) about tracking and journaling.

Not in a “write a full diary entry” way. But in a quick, curious notes kind of way.

Because when you consistently log things like:

  • What time they woke up

  • How much sleep they got

  • What outlets they had (or didn’t)

  • What their triggers were that day

  • What you were doing just before the outburst

  • What the walk was like (any red or yellow zones?)

...you start to see patterns.

You realise maybe it wasn’t the trigger at all — maybe it was the build-up.

Or the lack of rest. Or that one weird sound at 6AM.

And when you see the build-up, you can finally start responding before things hit 100.
